How to wear a brooch – a small styling guide

Nobody ever teaches you this, so here it is.

On the lapel. The classic. Left side, just below the collarbone, angled slightly outwards. On a blazer for work, or on a trench coat when the weather can't make up its mind.

In threes, not alone. Brooches love company. Group two or three in different sizes on the same lapel and let them look gathered rather than arranged.

Off the jacket. Pin one to a knitted jumper, a scarf, a bag strap or in your hair. A brooch anywhere but the lapel is the fastest way to look like you thought about it.

Keep the rest quiet. A statement brooch is plenty on its own. Pair it with simple gold studs and let it have the stage.

Gold and silver brooches

Our gold brooches are plated in 18K gold over waterproof stainless steel, and the silver ones are finished in rhodium for a cool, polished shine. Both are made to be worn – on the commute, at the office, at dinner – without losing their colour.
